Day 1: Haridwar / Rishikesh to Sitabpur
Your Panch Kedar journey begins with an early morning departure from Haridwar or Rishikesh. The scenic drive takes you through the beautiful Himalayan route, passing Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet, followed by the sacred Dhari Devi Temple and Rudraprayag. As the landscape gradually changes from the plains to the mountains, the journey becomes increasingly scenic. By evening, you arrive at Sitabpur, check into your hotel, and relax after the long drive.
Day 2: Sitabpur to Sonprayag – Gaurikund to Kedarnath
After an early breakfast, you drive towards Sonprayag and continue to Gaurikund by local shuttle. From Gaurikund, you begin the challenging yet spiritually rewarding trek to Kedarnath. The approximately 21 km trail includes steep climbs, moderate stretches, and relatively level sections, with beautiful mountain scenery throughout the route. By evening, you reach Kedarnath, check into your stay, and rest after the trek. Note: Shuttle charges between Sonprayag and Gaurikund are payable directly by the guest.
Day 3: Kedarnath to Gaurikund – Drive to Sitabpur
Begin your morning with the sacred darshan at Kedarnath Temple. After spending time at the temple, you start your descent towards Gaurikund, following the same scenic trail through the Himalayan landscape. From Gaurikund, take the local shuttle back to Sonprayag and continue your drive towards Sitabpur. On arrival, check into your hotel and relax after the day's journey.
Day 4: Sitabpur to Ransi – Trek to Gaundar
After an early breakfast, drive from Sitabpur towards Ransi, the starting point of your next trek. From Ransi, begin the approximately 6 km trek towards Gaundar village. The trail passes through peaceful mountain surroundings, forests, and traditional Himalayan villages. By afternoon, you reach Gaundar and check into your stay, where you can relax and prepare for the challenging trek ahead.
Day 5: Gaundar to Madhyamaheshwar
Today, you begin one of the most rewarding sections of the Panch Kedar Yatra. The approximately 11 km trek towards Madhyamaheshwar takes you through dense forests, mountain trails, and beautiful alpine meadows. The route involves a steady and challenging ascent before reaching the sacred Madhyamaheshwar Temple. By evening, check into your stay and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the temple surroundings. You may also witness the divine evening aarti.
Day 6: Madhyamaheshwar – Bhuda Madhyamaheshwar – Ransi Ukhimath
Wake up early and take a short excursion towards the beautiful meadows of Bhuda Madhyamaheshwar, where you can enjoy breathtaking Himalayan views and the peaceful surroundings. After spending time in the area, return to Madhyamaheshwar, have breakfast, and begin your descent towards Ransi. From Ransi, drive towards Ukhimath and check into your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 7: Ukhimath to Chopta – Trek to Tungnath & Chandrashila Sagar
After breakfast, drive from Ukhimath to Chopta, one of Uttarakhand's most beautiful mountain destinations. From Chopta, begin the approximately 4 km trek towards Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. After darshan, continue towards Chandrashila Peak, where panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks await you. Descend back to Chopta and drive towards Sagar village for your overnight stay.
Day 8: Sagar to Lyuti Bugyal
After breakfast, begin your trek from Sagar towards Lyuti Bugyal. The trail takes you through beautiful Himalayan landscapes, passing through Pung Bugyal and Mauli Karak. As you gain altitude, the scenery opens up into vast mountain meadows and panoramic views. By afternoon, reach Lyuti Bugyal and settle into your camps.
Day 9: Lyuti Bugyal to Rudranath Mahadev – Return to Lyuti Bugyal
Start early in the morning for the trek towards the sacred Rudranath Mahadev Temple. The trail passes through the stunning Panaar Bugyal and continues through high Himalayan meadows. After crossing Pitradhar, the trail gradually descends towards the sacred temple. Complete your darshan at Rudranath Mahadev and spend some peaceful time in this remote and spiritually significant Himalayan setting. Later, retrace your route and return to Lyuti Bugyal for the night.
Day 10: Lyuti Bugyal to Sagar
After breakfast, begin your descent from Lyuti Bugyal towards Sagar village. The downhill trail offers one last opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Himalayan meadows and surrounding mountain scenery. On reaching Sagar, check into your stay and relax after completing another challenging section of the Panch Kedar Yatra.
Day 11: Sagar to Kalpeshwar – Drive to Badrinath
After an early breakfast, drive towards Helang and continue towards the route for Kalpeshwar Temple. From the designated point, take the local shuttle where applicable and proceed for darshan at the sacred Kalpeshwar Temple, the fifth and final shrine of the Panch Kedar circuit. After completing your darshan, return and continue your scenic drive towards Badrinath. By evening, check into your hotel and relax.
Day 12: Badrinath to Haridwar
Begin your final day with an early morning darshan at the sacred Badrinath Temple. After breakfast, start your return journey towards Haridwar, travelling through Joshimath, Pipalkoti, Karnaprayag, and Devprayag. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Alaknanda River and its sacred confluences along the way. By evening, reach Haridwar, bringing your memorable Panch Kedar and Badrinath Yatra to a beautiful conclusion.
